Serendipity

Oh serpentine, tongue-twisting word!

You have many connotations and overtones contextually,

You mean Karma (destiny) to people who believe in providence,

You mean luck to people who make unexpected discoveries,

To some fate and to some fortune,

So and so died in an accident,

Such and such person won accolades in his field,

What an all-encompassing word you are!

What are you really?

The very mention of you

sends shivers down the spine and happiness to some,

Will you continue to be a conundrum?

I have ended this poem on an abrupt note since I was overwhelmed by the enormity of the meanings, though it may sound a bit far-fetched.
